EAPS 30 Remote Sensing of the Environment

This course is an introduction to remote sensing of the environment – the acquisition of information about the earth from a distance, typically via spaceborne sensors. We will primarily use Google Earth Engine (GEE) to analyze earth observation data. GEE hosts hundreds of global-scale datasets, many of which are continually updated as new satellite data are collected. These datasets provide an unprecedented opportunity to monitor global scale environmental changes. GEE is a cloud-based, scripting-driven program. Programming experience is not a prerequisite for this course, however previous programming experience will be helpful.
