EAPS 11 Geology of New England and Surrounding Regions

The geological evolution of North America over the past several billion years has played a significant role in influencing the character and distribution of agriculture, commerce, and transportation, the availability of mineral, energy, and water resources, and even the ecological communities that occupy this varied landscape. In this course, we will develop an intimate understanding of the geological history of the New England region of North America as a basis for learning fundamental geological processes. In order to appreciate the local geology of New England, this course will have multiple mandatory local field trips.
