BIOL 134 Foundations in Evolutionary Biology
In this graduate course, students will read and discuss a series of classic and contemporary papers taken from the primary literature on various topics in ecology and evolutionary biology. Each week a series of lectures will be given and a set of 2-4 papers will be discussed covering a different major topic. The papers will be chosen to expose students to the foundations of major ideas and theories in ecology and evolution and to contemporary tests of these major theories. This course covers topics in population biology, population genetics, speciation, and macroevolution. Held concurrently with BIOL 60.01.
