BIOL 109 Principles of cell growth and proliferation
The core cell cycle is central to development and disease. Historically, our understanding of the cell cycle comes from the remarkable combination of genetic and biochemical approaches in organisms from yeast to frogs to sea urchins. More recently, quantitative imaging and mathematical modeling have dramatically increased our understanding of cell cycle control and regulation. This course will examine key papers that lead to the identification of the core cell cycle oscillator and then skip forward to discuss exciting recent findings in cell cycle regulations.
