MUS 52.05 Advanced Conducting

This course provides advanced instruction to the art of conducting and study of the musical score. At the center of this endeavor is the analysis of music through the lens of the conductor-scholar, which develops in the expression of music through gesture. Students will be required to attend weekly workshops in the art of conducting, as well as in the study and analysis of major works from the orchestral repertoire. In this course, the students will have the opportunity to conduct a professional ensemble.
