ENGS 8 Understand Energy

Energy is essential to modern life, but its production and use contribute to pollution, habitat destruction, and climate change. This course builds students’ literacy around energy technologies (from batteries to heat pumps), impacts, and the undergirding science. Students engage with readings, discussions, and problem sets; experience energy in the real world through field trips and labs; and explore news about the events, shifting policies, and increasing demand for power that are reshaping the energy landscape.
