GEOG 30.02 Geographies of Displacement

Engaging key concepts in critical border and migration studies through a geographic lens, this course explores the politics of (im)mobility, spaces of enclosure, and bordering practices that shape contemporary migration and how we might envision them otherwise. It attends to the making of both borders and displacement, emphasizing how these processes have evolved historically, are transnational in scope, and are always shaped by race, gender, class, and nation.
