LING 28 Computational Methods for Linguistics
This class is designed to introduce you to basic techniques that linguists use during their research. We will cover different areas of linguistics (e.g. phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, etc.) and study techniques that accelerate the work and help in the processing of large bodies of data. The class will also allow you to understand the ethical complexities in using both data collected through fieldwork, as well as data in pre-existing linguistic databases.
