ECON 5.01 Social Entrepreneurship
This course introduces the theory and practice of social entrepreneurship and social innovation — the process of creating positive change through innovative, pragmatic, and often market-based solutions to complex social and environmental problems. Students will explore core concepts and prominent actors in the field, examine a range of social enterprise models and strategies, and consider how these approaches interact with, complement, or extend traditional government and nonprofit efforts within broader social, institutional, and policy contexts.
