New Undergraduate Course Supplement 2025

GEOG 58 GeoAI

GeoAI explores the intersection of geospatial science and artificial intelligence, focusing on methods and applications that leverage AI techniques to handle, analyze, present, and interpret spatial data.

In the methodological aspect, the course covers foundational concepts and methods of GeoAI. Besides traditional machine learning methods such as random forest, artificial neural network, genetic algorithm, cellular automata, and agent-based modeling, this course will particularly introduce the methods and techniques for taking advantage of generative AI, such as prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), generative modeling, agents, and knowledge graph.
