QSS 21 Regression Analysis

Regression analysis is a family of statistical techniques for estimating the relationship between an outcome variable and one or more explanatory variables. It is used to describe how the outcome varies with the explanatory variables, to make inferences about the strength and precision of those relationships, and — when the research design supports it—to identify causal effects. The outcome variable may be continuous, binary, or categorical. In this course, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of regression analysis: how to design and estimate a model, how to interpret the results, and how to critically analyze the validity of the techniques that you and others choose.
